If Paul Potts can do it, so can you!!!

It may not be PC, but Paul Potts had every going against him. Medical problems, just got married, dead end career, discouragement, bad teeth, bad haircut... you name it.

And at the end of the day, Paul Potts was transformed into a modern day hero. Not just because he has the gift to sing... because he had the guts to try one more time.

Now, if you don't know who I am talking about, I suggest that you head over to youtube.com and look at his video when he sang, "Nessun Dorma."

He will blow you away with his voice!!!

The real point of this is this... don't stop trying. It doesn't have to be all at once. Just a little bit more each day to your goal.

You want to lose fat and gain muscles? Just do a little each day... just get started and do it today!

Winning Through Intimidation

Recently, I read a great book by Robert J. Ringer, "Winning Through Intimidation."

This book was written in 1973 and is remarkably current in today's society.

Robert wrote about his experiences and model theories that are applicable to anything you do in life.

One of his theories is "Organic Chemistry Theory." This theory was based on his college experience in his chemistry class. He described this know-it-all in the lab. The guy practically juggled test tubes and worked effortlessly through the experiments.

And let everyone know about it.

Robert called this guy the "Court Holder." When someone knows-it-all and explains how utterly simple it all is.. he is a court holder. We all know someone like this.

To continue the story...

And poor Robert Ringer... he was so confused. So he hit the books every night studying as hard as he could... just so that he could catch up.

And then the day of the exam. Robert got the highest score in the class, way above anyone else. And the court holder? He scored about the median. That meant half the class did better than him...

Go figure...

So don't let anyone intimidate you by being a know-it-all. Chances are... it is his ego talking.

Andrew Speaker and Tuberculosis

"I flew to Europe and back and all I got was this stupid T-shirt"

OK. Andrew Speaker is a personal-injury lawyer. He somehow contacted a severe form of tuberculosis that is resistant to antibiotics.

CDC made the recommendation that he not make any travel plans. (And to be fair, he was not prohibited from traveling at the time).

He wanted to travel so he could marry his finance in Europe... as it turned out... they never got married as planned on this trip.

Andrew made so many decisions that put his fellow passengers and whoever he met at risk. Now all these people have to be tested to be sure they didn't contact it.

In case you didn't know, TB is a very slow growing bacteria. It takes a day and half to divide. So you know what this means... you have to keep taking the test to make sure you don't have it. It can be years.

So I imagine that a lot of people will be suing Andrew the lawyer. Sometimes Karma is a bitch.
