Strong Man -- Otto Arco

Not many people know about Otto Arco (his real name was Otto Nowosielsky). He was only 5'2" and 138 pounds soaking wet.

But he was incredibly strong and was a champion wrestler.

Otto Arco was born in Poland in 1881. He won the Austrian wrestling title in 1903 at the age of 22.

He was considered pound for pound... the strongest man alive.

It seems the methods the early strongmen used has faded away in history. Nowadays, everyone wants to use weights, isolation exercises and floor situps to achieve fitness goals. But what is happening is that the modern warriors are also getting hurt more often and not as strong. Sure they have big muscles but they don't have functional muscles.
